Employment support for wounded, injured or sick veterans now available for patients in Plymouth & across Devon

The employment support charity, The Poppy Factory, is providing free employment support for veterans registered with primary or secondary care services in Plymouth, as part of three pilot projects funded by NHS England. The two-year Plymouth pilot is seeking to work collaboratively with clinicians to reach more veterans with health conditions and help improve employment and health outcomes.

The Poppy Factory will also support Veterans across wider parts of Devon, not just within the pilot area of Plymouth – so please do refer anyone to the charity if they feel they need support and are eligible.

Neal Crump, Employment Consultant from The Poppy Factory, is operating out of the Waterside and Pathfields Medical Group PCN’s, and is building referral relationships with other PCNs, social prescribers, and other primary and secondary care services. Anyone who has served for one day or more in the armed forces or reserve and considers themselves to have a mental or physical health condition, can access this service. Veterans need to be unemployed and seeking work, although support can also be provided to those in employment that is affecting their health condition and they’re looking for a change.
