Delivery of Help Us Help You Stay Well This Winter materials for mandatory campaign October – December 2019
Delivery of HUHY materials for mandatory campaign
October 21, 2019
The HUHY Stay Well This Winter campaign is one of six campaigns, which have been agreed between PSNC and NHS England and NHS Improvement, as part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework; therefore, all contractors must participate in this campaign. The campaign materials that must be displayed in pharmacies as part of the public health campaign are:
- A5 Stay Well This Winter leaflets (plus counter top dispenser, which can be used by contractors if they wish);
- A4 Flu poster aimed at at-risk groups; and
- A4 Flu poster aimed at pregnant women.
Images of these leaflets and posters are shown below. Contractors should display these materials from 11th November 2019 until 31st December 2019. The campaign will also be running on TV, online and social media, and on billboards across the country. The campaign aims to encourage people to prepare for winter and get vaccinated against the flu virus. This supports the overall flu vaccination programme to increase uptake amongst key audiences, who are more likely to spread or become seriously ill from the flu virus.In addition to the above resources, community pharmacies will also receive the following as part of their pack, which contractors are encouraged to display and use during the winter period, but are not required to do so as part of the contractual requirements:
Help Us Help You – Before It Gets Worse/Know What To Do:
- Help Us Help You Treat Your Infection – Respiratory Tract Infection pad;
- NHS 111 – A4 posters; and
- Winter preparedness – A4 posters.
HUHY Before It Gets Worse aims to increase the number of people seeking advice from their community pharmacist at the first sign of a winter respiratory illness.
HUHY Know What To Do advises people that they can use NHS 111 to find out what to do and where to go when they have an urgent but non-life threatening medical concern. The poster for this campaign could be displayed by your opening hours notice so patients visiting when your pharmacy is closed are advised how to get the support they need 24 hours a day.
Prescription Exemption Checking ‘Check Before You Tick’:
- Leaflets/ ring bound booklet;
- Wobblers; and
- Strut card.
This campaign includes resources to help your patients understand their eligibility for free NHS prescriptions and how to claim correctly, to avoid receiving penalty charges
