NHS Community Pharmacy Flu Vaccination Service – Vaccination training

Pharmacies wishing to provide the service will have to demonstrate that pharmacists administering the flu vaccinations have been appropriately trained. Training will not be provided centrally and pharmacies can choose the training they require to satisfy themselves that they have the necessary skills to provide the service. This also covers pharmacists needing to do their refresher.

The LPC has commissioned a bespoke evening training event for pharmacist who have not received flu training before, from the local training provider PDI

The training will cover;

  1. The aims of immunisation: national policy and schedules
  2. The immune system and how vaccines work (quick and simple reminder)
  3. The different types of vaccines used and their composition
  4. Current issues and controversies regarding immunisation
  5. Communicating with patients
  6. Correct administration of vaccines (you will get a chance to practice your technique)
  7. Anaphylaxis and other adverse events (this does not cover Life Support Training)

Hot food will be provided along with tea and coffee.  So book you please today using our online booking system; http://tinyurl.com/yywajqp8  The cost is £52.00 per person, which includes all the costs for the event including the two course hot food buffet with tea and coffee.  A certificate is supplied by the training company.
