Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)

Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)

December 11, 2017

The three local authorities across Devon have recently published their Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments for 2018-21 and they are out for consultation which ends on Friday 2nd February 2018.

The PNA links closely to the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) for each area.  The JSNA focuses on the general health needs of the population, whilst the PNA looks at how those health needs can be met by pharmaceutical services commissioned by NHS England.

There are five short consultation questions relating to the PNA content.  Please take the time to read the draft PNA relevant to your locality and answer the questions are fully as you are able.  Once the consultation period ends, a consultation report will be produced and changes to the PNA will be considered.    Each PNA will be presented to and signed off by the relevant Health and Wellbeing Board during March 2018.

The draft PNAs may be found on each local authority website.
