What will be covered during the training?
This final pharmacy training event will focus on building your skills and confidence in communicating with patients and customers on sensitive issues and behavioural change. It will accredit attendees to meet the RSPH HLP Level 1 Communication criteria: ‘All pharmacy staff receive training on how to approach people to discuss difficult or sensitive public health issues’.
The training session covers many areas, showing how to explore personal attitudes to lifestyle behaviours while maintaining a non-judgemental attitude with patients and customers. An understanding of the psychological factors and complexity that relate to lifestyle behaviour choices, and the Elicit-Provide-Elicit model.
