Contraception Choice Educational Meeting

5th March 2019 Food from 6.30pm meeting starts at 7.15pm

The Copthorne Hotel, Armada Way, Plymouth PL1 1AR

Would you like to learn more about Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARCs)?

Would you like the confidence to discuss LARCs with women, providing them with increased choice and understanding of contraception?

Why is it important?

It is estimated that around 50% of pregnancies in the UK are unplanned, and the termination rate in England and Wales in 2015 was highest at 27.5 per 1,000 women aged 20-24.  38% of women undergoing a termination had had one or more previous terminations.

Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARCs) are more effective than condoms and the pill, and if more women chose to use a LARC, the number of unplanned pregnancies and terminations would be significantly reduced.
