It is nearly time for our 4th and final Health Campaign of the 2016-17 Contractual Year,
‘One You’ Physical Activity, to begin…
From the 27 March 2017 we will once again embrace the opportunity to provide information and support to the nation; this time, in order to help the nation’s adults, especially those between the ages of 40-60 years old, avoid future diseases caused by modern day lifestyles: Everyday habits and behaviours – specifically not being active enough.
This bulletin contains the following information, and more, to ensure you have a successful campaign:
- ‘One ‘One You’ Physical Activity Active 10 app
- Signposting patients to County Sport Partnerships (CSPs)
- ‘One You’ Physical Activity Pharmacy Toolkits (campaign resource packs)
-what to expect in your resource packs
-what to do if not received
- ‘One You’ Physical Activity – Key messages and statistics
- Evaluation on PharmOutcomes
–‘One You’ Physical Activity pharmacy crib sheet
‘One You’ Physical Activity encourages adults to get more active: The campaign aims to get people walking briskly in daily bursts of 10 minutes (Active 10s) or more to raise their heart rate and improve their fitness.
There is a free Active 10 app which shows how much brisk walking an individual is doing and where they can fit ‘Active 10s’ into their day.
The Active 10 app is new for this campaign and we encourage you and for you to embolden your customers to download the Active 10 app to see how it can help – to download the app: i- phone users will need to search for the ‘one you active 10 walk tracker’ through their app store and, android users will need to search using the ‘google play’ function.
Also provided for your convenience and use throughout the campaign is a list, attached, of County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) in your local area to whom you will be able to signpost appropriate patients:
CSPs are networks of local agencies committed to working together to increase the number of people taking part in sport and physical activity.
(Please note that all of the CSPs listed below have activity finders on their websites including local walking for health walks etc. Please make sure you check the website in the first instance but if more support to get a patient involved in activity is required they are happy to be contacted).
The ‘One You’ Physical Activity campaign will run for 6 weeks from the 27.03.2017 until the 08.05.2017 (and the evaluation will be available on PharmOutcomes within 2 weeks following the close of the campaign (from the 06.05.17 until the 19.05.2017)).
This is an excellent opportunity for Community Pharmacy to really engage with patrons and public alike. If you have not already received yours, ‘One You’ Physical Activity Pharmacy Toolkits (campaign resource packs) will be received by all pharmacies the week of the 20th March 2017.
Delivery of the resources for ‘One You’ Physical Activity to will be direct to pharmacies from Public Health England and we anticipate packs will contain the resource seen here……….
If you do not receive your ‘One You’ Physical Activity resources by Friday the 24.03.2017 you will need to email the PHE Partnerships team HERE stating ‘Physical Activity campaign resources NOT received’ in the subject bar and providing your pharmacy name, Fcode, pharmacy address and postcode, cc’ing in the england pharmacy mailbox (firstname.lastname@example.org). Replacement campaign packs should then be received within 3 working days following your email.
‘One You’ Physical Activity – The details and key messages for the campaign can be found by using the Public Health England website and resource centre HERE. (In order not to dilute the impact of the campaign to the public the key messages and information available from PHE will not be available to view and share with the public until the 17.03.17).
For your information and in order for you to effectively evaluate the ‘One You’ Physical Activity campaign, Public Health England has provided pharmacies with a campaign crib sheet, attached, in order to keep an active tally of the following questions in order to complete the evaluation on PharmOutcomes at the close of the campaign.
Please note: You may find this crib sheet useful for recording campaign interactions and is to assist you with the collection of data only. Please DO NOT submit the crib sheet to NHS England on the close of the campaign: Only return of campaign evaluations via PharmOutcomes will be accepted as proof of participation in the ‘One You’ Physical Activity campaign.
Evaluation questions as follows:
- Total number of conversations regarding the Physical Activity campaign occurred within the pharmacy?
- How many of your total amount of conversations about the Physical Activity campaign occurred during a MUR or NMS consultation?
- How many patients, as a result of your conversations re. Physical Activity, did you signpost to the active 10 app?
- How many patients, as a result of your conversations re. Physical Activity, did you signpost to the county sports partnership?
Please be aware that the Evaluation form on PharmOutcomes will become ‘read only’ following the deadline for completion of evaluations on PharmOutcomes: this will mean that those pharmacies who do not complete their evaluations, as required within the given timescale, will not then be able to retrospectively complete evaluations in preparation for, or, at year end itself, for the contractual year 2016-17.
The timeframe for which pharmacies will be able to complete the evaluation of the ‘One You’ Physical Activity campaign on PharmOutcomes (unless advised otherwise by NHSE) is between the 06.05.2017 and the 19.05.2017.
Thankyou – As always, do let us know should you require any further information: Our contacts can be found at the bottom of this bulletin.
Public Health England (PHE) have a whole spectrum of resources ready and waiting for you in their online campaign resource centre HERE.
